Having read @hodonkee's post recently made me realised that my purchase of this Casio Duro...
Was an objective one.
I needed a daily beater, one with decent WR n lume, wearable in n outta water n for work, best if it can fit a few straps too. So when I saw this watch going for just 20 bucks... I grabbed it.
My Initial tripidation at the cheap offer price made me think I've bitten off more than I expected... N the watch turned out to be exciting... In a good way.
I think one would probably be hard pressed to find another watch that has so many variations of it n each suiting a wide range of steel or leather straps n natos.
I could wear this watch all day, on most occasions. Swim in a pool or go to the beach, in sports or desk diving, in a cafe or restaurant, at work or play, with any strap I like/have.
In fact, this could simply be, the ultimate GADA watch.
What's your Strap Monster or GADA watch, my friends? 😊

Love my Duro. Wearing it right now.
I have 2 Duros, they have been amazing. The watch I take with me when heading to the Caribbean. Not my only watch but, you are right a good choice for GADA. Enjoy. Just my collection of Casios pictured.

I have one Duro and trying to justify getting more ! At $20 I would get the lot but about $65 in the UK. I put saphire on mine (makes a huge difference) and still messing about with straps. I love it although have to respectfully disagree about the lume lol.

Thanks for that, saved in my bookmarks for definite future use !

Touché mate. Great one there... 😁 Sapphire Crystal sounds good, maybe that might be my next change... Now, if only we could improve the lume somehow eh? 🤔
Love the Duro and have a few straps that I swap between two watches.
I've got a few more straps but you get the idea :)
I wear this all the time, not because of the dog on the dial but because it's comfortable, legible, easy. I need it in black

Niiice straps n watch there! Have fun! 😁
The Duro is just a few mm short of perfection IMO. If 38mm and a lug width of 20mm it would be my all-time favourite diver. Still great though.

Niiice watch n a great strap there! 😁 👏 🤩
Love the Duro. I am wearing one today.

Yup but it does the job. In my ideal world they would magically shrink it by 2mm.

Great choice 👍
“As worn by billionaires! (Bill Gates)”
Seems to appear in most Duro references, so felt obligated to add it here. 😆
I have two Duros that being the OG MDV-106 Gold and a newly acquired Pepsi dial MDV-107, both are absolutely gorgeous, wish there's a 40mm for the MDVs'
MDV-107 (Pepsi)
Those are pretty cool watches mate! 😊 I'm sure most of us would be looking forward to the 40mm/39mm version... Without shrinking the specs like the recent 37mm... 😅

Yep, the newer MDVs with the smaller diameter is a massive downgrade, hopefully Casio actually makes a 40mm Duro, it'll surely sell like cakes.

Exactly mate. 😊 👍
Glad you like it, I sold mine soon after receiving it... too big for my wrist 🙄
I would love to have a Solar Duro, maybe one day Casio will make it happen.

Cool stuff mate. 😎 Honestly, I'm just really lucky. I thought that was just for the bond nato only that came witha watch... 😅😂🤣
Definitely a great GADA watch. I use to do a lot of work in crawlspace/attic remediation. I always had my duro on banging it around in mud/rain/snow you name it and it still functions perfectly. Such a great value watch.
That's precisely why I bought it too, that I won't be afraid of banging it around at work like I did with my other watches. Turned out I got more compliments on it than my other watches n it became one of my most GADA watches instead... 😁
Indeed mate. They can do better though I sus that they didn't want the smaller Duro to sabotage the sales of this current one... 😅
Well, it's not like Casio is in competition with themselves, and people have been asking for smaller Duro for years, so I don't know what they were thinking. The og Duro is so large it totally overwhelms a smaller wrist, so a good mini Duro would have opened up a whole new stream of sales.
They made it smaller, but they also nerfed it and then put a comically thin strap on it. Instead of making the Duro a midsized diver it's like they made a mildly insulting "ladies" version. 🙄
I don't what went wrong because Casio has already proven they can shrink a watch and keep the specs because they have a whole line of unisex and women's G Shocks, not to mention the Baby G line. They do it all the time. Hopefully they take another swing at it.

If there had been a 40mm Duro when I first got into watches (I bought one then) I would have never bought another watch and never started this hobby!

Yup, checks out.
I'veu always been low key jealous of Duro owners. My wrist is 6" so it's a no-go for me, which is shame because I love Casio.
I had such high hopes for the 38mm Duro and it was such a let-down. 😔
But it's ok because I finally found my perfect, midsized diver.
