I’ve owned two Spinnakers (they will win).

Personally 🫣 I find their QC/finish to be rather subpar. They seem to have released more interesting models since then however. Still I prefer Phoibos over Spinnaker.

Malm looks way more interesting to me.

·

How could I not vote for Spinnaker when they have kept the homage fire warm for the Fifty Fathoms...

This might be actually tough for me.....

Simply because of how cool the Malm Frogman 44 is. It's integrated lugs mean no single pass, but the watch has an analog depth gauge built into it. Actual working capillary tube.

Would I use it, not terribly often, but nonetheless a very specific designed tool, for a very specific niche military community.

The commander variant is also kind of cool too.

I love the designs of spinnaker, however pretty much all their range are massive meaning I can never wear one. Malm gets my vote.

·

Having both, Malm wins easily. It won't because Spinnaker is mass market and Malm is much less well known. But the quality, specs and appeal punch in way above the cost and way above Spinnaker.

Had not heard of Malm, looked at the website and they are very interesting, I agree that as Spinnaker is more well known they will win but nice brand is Malm

This is a fun one. Besides the 50 Phantoms, there’s not much in the Spinnaker catalog that does much for me. Nothing I dislike, just not much that grabs me.

Malm on the other hand … I’m all over the place. Some of their models look fantastic (I’m looking at you dual crown), where others are super chonky and a little garish.

Can I just vote for Lorier on this one?

As an owner of two Spinnakers, I’m contractually obligated. Hass Beluga Blue, hefty, but incredibly well balanced and tough; and a Spence 300 Whale Blue. The latter having incredible case finishing and the current thinnest 300m diver on the market. Spinnaker advertises 10.9mm thick, but I measured mine and it clocked in at 10.6mm!

Love #spinnaker designs....but there is no information on the origin (heart and soul) of this company, assambling premises or relevant information about their beautiful waches. I own one, and because it is so beautiful, I kind of forgive them quality aspects that have to improved, specially on the bracelet department.

This is a case of voting between 2 that are trailing in making more 47mm L2L options available to us in the 6.5 wrist world. I like the variety of brought by Spinnaker, but owning one I know their QC and finishing need to increase dramatically. While Malm has few 47mm L2L options, I do not own one, but have heard a lot of crowing from owners about the great QC and finishing. I'll give it to Malm and hope they bring more options for those of us that want smaller, well designed options.

Spinnaker is owned and designed by a British company called Dartmouth Brands Ltd. Their watches are made in their Hong Kong factory

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Spinnaker!

Spinnaker is very much NOT a microbrand.
