SOTC 2024

As I see all these SOTC posts I thought maybe I should toss mine out there too. Starting top left to right.

  1. Hamilton Air Racer Redbull edition (first automatic watch)

  2. Seiko 7002 (dads watch)

  3. Baltic MR01

  4. My GSHOCKS

  5. Tudor BB58 Blue Dial

  6. Omega Speedmaster

  7. Rolex OP 36 Tiffany Dial

  8. Rolex Explorer II 226570 Polar Dial

I’m pretty happy with my collection right now. I think I’ll keep it for the time being.

I’m sorry, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t feel comfortable, but what did you spend on that OP Tiffany? I have seen them going for offensive prices.

There’s some high end in the Tudor, Speedy, OP Tiffany and the Explorer II, but there’s also some entry level in the Seiko and the G Shocks. There’s also some mid range in the Baltic and Hammy. This, to me, is the collection of somebody who loves watches, regardless of status or cost or provenance. You see things like people with Lange and AP and all these high end pieces and, while I’m sure they’re great people, they often lose touch of reality and think that you NEED to have a 5711 Tiffany stamped to be a “real collector” and things like this are really nice to see and have to keep you grounded. I love it. 🤙🏼

Nice collection! What is your most and least worn?

·

beautiful collection! Well done!

·

I’ll trade you my Seiko Diver for your Speedy. Straight across. Seems fair.

Retail actually. Have built a great relationship with my AD over 3 years and got lucky on getting it. Wasn’t the color I asked for but couldn’t say no to it.

Most = Tudor BB58

Least = Explorer II or Baltic

I’ll think about it.

How do you like the Baltic? It looks great in photos but I found the finishing to be a bit rougher than I expected when I viewed it in a shop window. Haven't handled one in person though.

Excellent collection! Thanks for sharing.

·

Your Dad has/had great taste - a nice hand-me-down indeed!

·

Nicely curated collection. Thanks for sharing.

·

Love that Polar Exp 2!

It’s a good watch for the price but you do get what you pay for. Feels very cheap and light. However for around the $500 range you get a good looking dress watch. I got the blue strap and beads of rice bracelet and they’re both comfortable.

That’s sick. Some people were asking 60-70K for these things.

I got it for my wife when we had our 3rd kiddo a few months back so if she wants to keep it or sell it that’s up to her.

What have been your thoughts on the Baltic MR01? I am currently planning on picking the silver version up later this year as a milestone celebration. Curious about any pros/cons you have experienced during your ownership of it?
