New Seiko Solar Release

some 6139-esque vibes from the latest release of the solar prospex line. bit of the old mixed in with the new. whats your thoughts and which one is your favorite of the new release?

They all still have the useless 24Hr. indicator and the bizarre location of the date windows that manage to be neither aligned to any of the indices  nor positioned anywhere close to a radius that would make sense. So it's going to be a hard pass from me.

Yeah. The power reserve is also a bit pointless, imo, and further clutters the dial. A colour matched date wheel would help make things look a little better.

These Speedtimers are lovely in the flesh though.

The SSC911 is so close to the SSC813 with minimal upgrades that it reminds of when apple comes out with a new iPhone that has just enough upgrades to Piss off the customers who bought the earlier version but not enough to want to purchase it.

.... I want more Lume on my SSC813 Indices 😕

wouldn't of hurt to add some more lume to the ssc813 but atleast the new line have larger lume plots. anyone else waiting for a sun burst yellow dial?

the battery indicator seems a bit strange they could of maybe put it on the back of the watch, but the new lume plots and pepsi/coke bezels are a good color choice. the ssc813 was nice but looked a bit to plane Jane for me. these colors definitely got me thinking twice about them

I really like most of those more expensive Seiko chronographs, if I play my cards right I'm sure I can get an older model. I like the quirks of my one budget Seiko chronographs, but I like my watches a bit bold.

some of the older chronos are rare to find in good condition but they are out there, what one do you have?

there's a few "cheap chronos" from the late 00's and mid 10's that I think have been overlooked but are awesome watches, I'll put up a post soon with a nice chronograph that I think has quietly gone under the radar.

Seiko always screws up a good thing. 39mm...perfect. Now, why go bigger?

Love the looks of the 911 but at the price, I am struggling to not be swayed by the Tactical frog version..
