Do You Make Sure the Second / Minute hand lands exactly on the indices?

Greetings Crunchers! Do you all have this obsession when you set your watches, the second and minute hands MUST land precisely in the middle of the indices?

It bugs the hell out of me if it doesn’t!!! And I’ll readjust my watch until it is 😅The moment the second hits 12/24 the minute hand must be in the middle of the indices. Am I alone in this?

No. I don’t worry about it. I’ve never paid attention to it. I don’t set the time on my watches that closely. If it’s within a minute or so close enough. However now that you mention it, I’m going to look and see as I rotate through my watches if mine do.

I like that my Casio Lineage is very precise with the second hand, but my Hamilton's small seconds don't and it bothers me a little when I notice this...

·

I leave the second hand off on some builds and like it better that way

·

I try. It's a good way to realize that sometimes, the indices themselves are misaligned so there's really no helping the situation...

Careful, it might drive you nuts😅

Yea

I pull up world timer on my phone and try and get it down to the second but after that idc how off it get over a few days

·

it must be aligned at all cost.

·

am not OCD enough to worry about it to tell you the truth ...

Being misaligned bothers me more than most people. I try to get it right when I set it. If it’s off halfway through my day I usually won’t make an adjustment until the next day.

·

I usually wind my watch to make the second hand run, then pull out the crown and set the time.

But the second hand is rarely on 12, so I have to set it more precisely few minutes later.

At first I try to think that I don't care, but I can't stand that the minute hand is not on the indice when the second hand hits the 12.

Yes. I'm weird like that. I won't use the Oxx term because people are really suffering out here but I'll take it a step further and add that it's extra nice when the seconds hand ticks land squarely on the minute markers in my quartz watches. I have documented this. See? I'm a weirdo. Here's a clip:

As for setting/syncing my autos I have doxed that, too. Here I am doing it in the background in a more recent iteration of watch lovers madness:

Pls don't ban me 😶

Yes. If it’s not in perfect alignment it really, really irritates me. Another first world problem identified 😁
