Seiko SKX007 still a favourite?

The SKX007 has been a lot of our favourite watch when we started this journey. Is it still yours in 2024? I still love mine😍

I definitely miss mine. It now resides at the bottom of the ocean in a kelp forest off the coast of Catalina Island ☹️ It was a great watch. Not the most catastrophic loss possible, but still sucks. This is why I now only dive with my Tudor FXD - i.e. fixed lugs 👍

The bang for the buck is undeniable, it is a watch that will last your entire life with minimal fuss.

The FXD is a worthy replacement 😅

It sure was back then.

That would be like saying which one of my SKX siblings is my favorite. Hint: the one I bought when it was recommended by Marc Frankel of Long Island Watches.

Haha that’s quite a family you got there! Love that orange monster

SKX is still iconic today. I wanted to buy one recently but the prices are too expensive now for what it is.

Got a time sonar inspired 5KX instead.

The difference now is a downgrade from Dive Watch SKX compared to Dive Style 5KX.

Yeah it’s not worth the price today unless you absolutely dig the 7s movement and the case shape. The 5KX is o really a better watch. Haha honestly you can still dive with the 5KX.

Thanks! It gets more wrist time than the other three combined.

Still love the SKX. It was the mass produced, no-frills, economical tools watch that has all the hallmarks of what I desire. The 7S26 is a workhorse and I never took issue or felt the need to upgrade to something that hand wound or hacked. After we've all long gone, the SKXs and Keith Richards will still be standing!

It really is a top watch

My watch journey didn't travel far from the SKX007. I think it's the first watch on the left, but I'm not sure 😀.
