Did I miss out on this opportunity?

First off, do you think the Black Bay 41 on a 5 link bracelet “jubilee” is not that easy to get from Tudor boutiques in your area or wherever you live?

For the past few months, I’ve been trying different models from different Tudor boutiques just to check what models are in stock. Yesterday while strolling around the city, we passed by a Rolex and Tudor shop, so I said might as well, maybe it’s my lucky day lol

So we went to Rolex first and surprisingly, they took time to “check” if they have stock of the watch I was looking for. As you know, here in Tokyo or Japan, they don’t do wait lists. But the SA was so friendly and said that steel models are coming in a bit more than before. Then next, Tudor. We looked what models are on display and this BB41 burgundy wasn’t. Asked the SA if by any chance they have this model, weirdly enough, he proceeded to ask questions like “have you tried looking at other places? Where are you guys from? Do you live around the area?” Before saying yes. Mind you, the conversation was in Japanese. I just find it weird or is it just me? I tried it on and I really liked it but maybe not as much to pull the trigger?

Now here I am, still thinking about the damn watch 😂 did I miss out? Should I wait for the next Watches & Wonders event? What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts about this watch!

I visited the Sydney CBD Tudor store in December 2023 and they said 2-3 month wait for the Tudor BB41 Red Bezel with jubilee bracelet. In the store a buyer was picking one up after he had waited. I guess you’ve got to decide how big is your itch and if you need to scratch it now! It does look very pretty in person but I prefer the more hefty look of the Heritage ETA smilie model which I found a month later.

Now I want to kick myself in the head haha

It does look really good in person and it perfectly fits me well. It can slide under the sleeves too. But then again, I’m still enjoying the time with my current watches right now. Still saving for THAT next watch if I ever come across another one.

Yes you’ve got some nice watches 🤩the Tudor and Casio dials both pop. Cool Casio square g-shock blackout. Longines is a safe GADA bet and I like the Seiko panda Chrono. I’ve got my eye on the yellow dial Seiko Chrono.

·

Thank you! I was thinking maybe if I get rid of my GADA watch, it’ll be easier for me to buy another on the spot haha it helps me to save money, though.

Can’t go wrong with any color from Seiko chrono 👌🏽

Life is kinda better on a jubilee ðÂÂÂ

It was 1960, yes I am often the oldest guy in a room when my dad decided that a few watches would not break our family budget, sent money home to Hong Kong for 2 Omegas and steel Rolex OP Manual Date for himself. I was 10 at the time even at that age realized that the Rolex Oyster bracelet was special. I have never understood the love for the jubilee bracelet from the same company, years later bought a pile of modern Tudors mostly for the oyster style bracelets including the fake rivets. Just a matter of my preference.

That is so cool. There was no collector in my family but my father wore his only watch Tag Heuer Professional 200 from when I was a kid until now. Never thought that anyone needs multiple watches until I started to make my own money ðÂÂÂ

Recently I needed to hire 2 young fellas who are real estate agents, one man from Iran wore a VC as well as an Omega dress watch, the other agent wore a well worn Tag gifted to him from his race enthusiast dad, a very prominent developer. The Tag guy sourced a 41mm gold and steel Rolex during the period he worked on my behalf but I always thought the Tag better suited him, of course he did not agree! Haha. Have a great day.

I have that watch! Bought it in May from my AD. It had just come in. Interestingly, I had come in for the BB54 which had also just arrived but side by side, the 41mm was much nicer. I also liked the way the jubilee bracelet looked. They had both and the jubilee won out. I guess it was my lucky day. The watches were still in the shipping boxes.

What a beautiful time piece! Congrats! I will sleep on it, hoping it will still be there. Wear it in good health, sir!

Nope have seen a few go under retail. Don't sweat it. It's never worth paying retail for a tudor just be patient they'll be more readily available shortly.

·

The burgundy on 5 link is the hardest one to find in the bay area. I wouldn't mind it on the rubber strap either though.

·

I have mine on oyster (3-link). 5-link is nice, but it looks to flashy, too rolexy. I like my Tudors for their non-nonsense vibe.

Great watch, finishing and accuracy are amazing. Well worth the money.

On a rubber strap it looks handsome, super sporty look matching the red bezel 🎯

I purchased a BB58 a few weeks ago from a local Tudor boutique in Southern California. I tried on the red bezel 41 on 5-link and it was beautiful. It was available and they had the 58 and 54 in stock.

The display 58 was available but I requested a new unopened one and it took 4 days to arrive. The sales associate told me the 41 on 5 link could be requested and be there in 1-2 weeks or you could buy the one in the case. I have been in that store 3 times and they always have items in stock or told me they can order with a refundable deposit and will be there in under a week.

The boutique near me is in a popular mall, South Coast Plaza, and is always packed with watch shoppers.

If you want one you should be able to easily buy it and you should be able to receive a good purchase experience. Don’t settle for less. Make them sell you the watch. My experience with Japan is they focus on customer service but maybe it’s only for foreigners?

In my anecdotal experience and from people around me, it’s quite the opposite for Rolex. They tend to not sell to foreigners even if you’re a resident.
