Help me pick a strap for my Smiths Everest Silver Jubilee

Hello all,

First time poster, been lurking for a while! I'm looking for a strap for my recent Smiths acquisition, largely because I want to minimize wear and tear on the bracelet but also give it a different look from time to time (pun intended?). Would like to find two or so; something on the dressier end and something a bit more casual. Being colorblind I'm always a bit hesitant about these types of decisions! That and I've not ventured into strap changes much yet other than a james bond nato on my old seiko seaurchin.

The dial on this piece is black Aventurine, which has golden flecks in it and a slight navy blue hue in certain lighting. (Max did a great video on it, ill link at bottom) The numbers and indices are on the cream end of white. Your suggestions of brands, materials and designs are welcome, as well as how you go about making these decisions yourselves.

I've been looking at Strap Mill Canada (support local given the chance) and Delugs so far.

I like the Jubilee on this watch, a lot.

For casual, a NATO would work and the possibilities are endless maybe a bond style or just simple black.  For dressier occasions, a black leather or dark brown with minimal padding would be a good look as well.  Simple is the general idea, IMHO.

I have the color blind gene as well, BTW.

My Zodiac sea wolf is usually worn on a very similar jubilee.  When I want to mix it up I use a colourful tropical style rubber band with quick releases.  Watch came with one, but I got another from straphabit and I’ve been happy with their product as well.

A black nato, maybe seat belt material or a brown/ cream canvas for dressing down, and there's loads of bracelets out there. Good news is as there's lots out there plenty to choose from, and with fabric straps there really cheap you can pick a selection from eBay or amazon for not much money and have a play and see what you like for not much outlay. And of course post your result👍

Vintage Horween would look great 👍

·

I would dress this up with an off white or ecru leather. Molequin has a really nice color selection.

Bracelets generally have a casual, sporty look. In this light, you might consider the following:
Bricks... (photo not mine)

Hexad...

Center-polished oyster...

President bracelet (which is similar to a Jubilee)...

Then, a dark brown or red brown leather strap will dress it up well...

And then casual straps could be Canvas, NATO, Perlon, FKM Silicone, and Sailcloth. Checkout the review by IDGuy on YT, including his Instagram account, for lots of strap options he features. I'm planning to get one too very soon, so I've planned ahead. 😉 Enjoy! 🍻

Thanks to everyone for the many thoughts and suggestions! I'll be sure to post up which way I go!

Do you have a preferred brand for NATOs?

Cool! Would love to see a pic of the zodiac with the tropical style band

I only buy G10 IW SUISSE NATO Straps, the nylon, inexpensive type.  I find these best, you can get them from many different vendors including eBay.  The seat belt NATO straps are a little better quality, but I still like the less expensive nylon type better.

absolutely smitten about this watch, but cant make sense of its grey market price at the moment. Nice catch! Would love to see more watch companies do aventurine dials.. Try it on grey epsom!

I completely understand where you’re coming from. I love the Jubilee but I don’t wanna get it scratched. I went ahead and threw mine on a navy nato so you can see how it looks. I really like it and I plan to purchase a black nato as a back up. The Jubilee is an awesome watch it I love it.
