Just for a bit of fun, looking into the future, say the next year or so, what 3 things would you like to see happen in the watch world and what things do you think will happen. Mine are...
Seiko will start using sapphire more and regulate their watches at the factory.
AD will only sell watches that are in stock.
Casio will make an exact copy of the Duro but shrunk to 40mm.
And what I think will happen...
Swatch will release a inexpensive watch and add a little bit of printing to the dial causing queues.
Seiko will put their prices up.
Rolex will do exactly what they do with the odd whacky/unusual dial thrown in.

Pretty shot
A ceasefire on pointless increased cost anniversary/limited edition watches that are the same as the existing models but in different colours.
Moser & Cie to accompany their beautiful watches with a similar beauty in their straps.
Delivery of my An Ordain Model 2 watch (God knows I'll have waited 18 months at least).
What I think will happen;
There will be an avalanche of highly priced anniversary/limited edition watches. I'm talking to you Omega.
Christopher Ward will continue to enhance it's growing reputation with new watches without Sellita movements.
Richard, Rich & Ricky will shock the watch world with a new release model that isn't Watermelon MK5 & it will be cool & highly sought after also.
I want
1 Omega bring back the flight master
2 Omega bring back the chronostop
3 Omega make a proper field watch
What will happen
1 Omega make a speedy with a Tiffany dial
2 Omega put Tiffany dial on the seamaster professional
3 Omega make a Tiffany ceramic planet ocean
Omega discontinues all Speedmaster models
Cartier discontinues all Santos models
JLC discontinues all Reverso models
but we'll get
Grand Seiko releases some other novelty dial based on mold spores or fish scales or crab footprints on the sand.
Tissot introduces negative display on PRX digital
Walmart and Target drop all watches in store except their private label tripe.
I will obtain the following:
Cartier Santos
Tudor Pelagos
Rolex Explorer
But actually:
I will fall out of love with the Santos
The Pelagos FXD will be scarce
My AD will say they’re going to call, but we both know they aren’t going to call.
Want to happen
Swatch collabs die
Rolex fumbles the bag
I am able to buy a Speedy
Probably will happen
We'll get another f@@@ing Swatch collabs
Omega fumbles the bag
I'll by a Speedy homage.
Apple will release the WatchX and then Watch Ultra3. I guarantee it.

I had a quick peek at the Ordain Model 2 watch, hope it arrives one day !
Grand Seiko allow anyone to make a Spring Drive and the technology becomes as cheap as a quartz
Casio release a G-Shock Square with a MIP display with the same specs as a 5610U - no heart rate monitor but does have MB6, solar etc.
Swatch don't release any more 'partnership' bio-ceramic bullshit watches.
Just a small one, the Swatch group stop gatekeeping spare parts to small independent watchmakers to stifle the repair market.
Liklihood of the above?
Not a chance
Maybe
They will, you know they will.
Pffffffft, nah.
I saw a lady with a watch on a flight I took to LA. At first glance I thought she was wearing a Tank. No her watch was stretched more. The crystal was long curved and domed. It was just amazing to look at. I had never seen a crystal like it. It was massive for a woman’s watch. It was long a full of curves. I’m sure it was a vintage piece. I hope crystal like this are the future for the watch industry.
