Grail acquisition nearly complete…
I’ve wanted an SNA413 forever. (Limited edition of the 411 Flightmaster) Been chasing one in good shape for four years. I love my SNA411 partly because my dad had one and because it’s just a great watch but the blue panda haunted me. Thought I got one 2 years ago but it came completely not as represented. The Crystal needed replacing, the movement ran but the crown fell out if not screwed down and you couldn’t set it. And the unobtainable bezel was a complete mess. I was so mad that after searching for a blue bezel for a year or so, I just chucked in a drawer and didn’t want to look at it. Finally asked in a Seiko forum a couple weeks ago if anything had the bezel. A lovely man and my new best friend said he used to be a Seiko rep and may have some 413 parts but wasn’t sure. Got an email last night. I guess you could say he had parts! A NOS demo he took to dealers. Still with stickers on the bracelet. The movement is dead, but the movement in my lemon can be fixed (or I’ll just get a new one). So I thought I was getting a donor at best but now mine has become the donor for this. A couple hundred bucks later (plus the $200 I paid for my junk one) and I’ll have a basically brand new 413! My 411 will go back on the black leather and the 413 will get my Uncle Seiko President bracelet. I am beyond excited.
Watch enthusiast in upstate New York. Mostly Seiko and Casio but dabble in higher end from time to time.
The 413 is not very common and IMO is also the closest you can get to the Navitimer experience without having to buy a Breitling or a Sinn.

Exactly. Amazing how a color change can do that. The 411 says more Speedy to me but the 413 says Navitimer.

Thanks. I’m gonna wear the shit out of it. I’ll have spare parts! Just gotta try not to mark up that bezel! That’s the only unobtainable part I won’t have a replacement for.
