If I get a knighthood

There is a chance I may get a knighthood, what watch should I wear on the big day if it happens. Have it down to three

What does one wear when being knighted? I know on “Game of Thrones” it was armor, but I’d bet that fashions have changed.

At first blush, the CW seems most appropriate but I’m not sure about the green strap (again depending on what you’ll wear).

(And I’d like a dose of painkiller to numb the agony of not having made a joke about your needing lume because whenever you look at the watch it’ll be knight.)

·

Probably the CW because it’s from the UK.

But don’t throw out that your getting knighted and just leave it there. Details man…details 🤨

·

Out of these I like the Orient Star best. Though assuming it's a British knighthood you may prefer the Christopher Ward for patriotic reasons. Good luck anyway!

Presuming you're being potentially knighted in the UK I'd go with Chris Ward

·

Presuming UK I’d go with the CW on a different strap

·

CW for sure. And let them know!

·

The Orient Star. Because it has sword hands, obviously 🙄

·

I’m wearing a pink Nomos to my Damehood

The obvious choice!

·

I did a bunch of work in Buckingham Palace and was sorely disappointed with the watches on display. Either nothing at all or Apple Watches!

·

I mean is knighthood really a distinct possibility for you? ⚔️ Are you on the list? How did that work?

If it were me I'd be watch shopping! What better excuse for a new watch!

·

Thanks for all the replies. I think it will be the CW, but as mentioned it will be on a different strap. I also own a Rolex OP, but as it is an investment piece I would rather leave it in the safe

You buried the lede VERY deeply, Sir Watchalot. Isn’t it possible that wearing the Rolex (which has a crown on its crown) while being knighted will INCREASE its value? And isn’t there just something apt (the Britishness of the CW aside) about wearing one’s absolute understated best at such an occasion?

Of course, you should absolutely do you, especially as doing you is presumably what earned you consideration for knighthood in the first place.

Umm, perhaps I can wear the Rolex during the ceremony and the CW for the garden party 😁

Show the King how to Schwartzkopf! 😜

·

Not the orient, the dial is too busy for a very special occasion.

Stay away from the UK honour’s and title’s nonsense and turn down the knighthood.

Buy a new watch to celebrate your honourable decision.

Never, it's King and country for me. I can see it now "Sir Watch Alot"
