Do anyone else HATE straps OR do you love them??

I have always some problems with any kind of straps and I have absolutely no problem to shorten a fine bracelet, so it feels great... So I began resently to change all straps to nice bracelts - on every watch I plan to use - last week!

It depends on the watch.

It depends on the watch.

Yes, possible... But generally?? And I naturally mean some the best alternatives, of each type!

I could find really fine bracelets (with solid links & butterfly lock) on Amazon and eBay under 20 euro and slightly finer was under 35 euro... Then did I not find anything finer under 50 euro, which is my limit.

I thought the title was funny and this would be a pocket watch discussion.

NATO's generally for me. Ultimate comfort.

·

I detest bracelets, they are the least comfortable way to wear a watch in my opinion. I tend to wear my watches on leather or Erika's Original MN straps.

A very nice bracelet, can also transform the watch, to a very manly jewellery...

But I am actually VERY disappointed on the makers of bracelets - for not making more intricate, elegant or magnificent bracelets!!

This exceptional watch has the finest bracelet I ever seen, but you find it only on that one and a sister model... Partly because the lugs are unique and not standard...

And otherwise is these for 17 euro the finest I seen (and bought) but you may naturally have a very different taste...

And these for 35 euro... That especially have "uniform" links, that give a special balance...

And these for 17 euro are also rather delicious...

And this for 21 euro, that is a bit extra intricate...

It depends on the watch.

Exactly. Example: The Speedy was meant to be on leather straps. Of all colors. Strap MONSTER!

·

I have a really big wrist, so extra links are a necessity on a metal bracelet. Unfortunately that's not always available. So I've come to rely on nato/zulu/paratrooper straps. I've really come to like the paratrooper straps.

·

Bracelet then MN straps. To hell with NATOs.

·

A bracelet has always been the most comfortable for me, but most manufacturers tend to cut costs and bugger up the bracelet. I also generally prefer the look of a bracelet over a strap.

·

Need (E): All of the Above. I love all straps and bracelets and wish that more brands would make quick release bracelets. My Speedy will basically never get its bracelet back on because of how difficult and scratch prone the process is (after I tore through protective tape the last time).

Indeed, I just ordered a bunch of straps from different places:

  • leather straps from Two Stitch Straps (fell in love with pic on one of their posts on WC),

  • FKM rubber straps from Jeulong/ AliExpress (as a test because other brands' more expensive FKM straps look like they could just be white labeled Chinese sourced FKM straps), and

  • NATOs from Crown & Buckle (anyone order their two piece tapered NATO whose pics look a little like sailcloth).

Wish Forstner or Uncle Seiko would make quick release bracelets for the Speedy.

Most of my watches are on nato-ish straps (eg: some zulu, some RAF as well), but that's more because they suit the kind of watches I wear than because I've got any wild love affair going on with the style of strap.
