Making memories as a new collector.

I’m a young professional just starting out his career, who joined this incredible hobby only a couple years ago.

I often hear people talk about the meaning behind each of their watches and the memories associated with each piece, and couldn’t help but feel, naturally, that I’ve yet to do the same with my own watches.

I build most of my watches or find affordable homages, until I move up in my line of work. And most tend to be purchased or assembled on a whim based on the styles I like or stumble upon.

This Christmas, I decided to intentionally create one of my first important watch memories. My beautiful girlfriend and I are celebrating our first holiday season together, and our first Christmas spent living together. Both of us sharing the healthiest relationship either of us have been blessed to experience and we’re very grateful to each other this season.

While making breakfast with her this morning I stopped myself and said, this is it, I’m living it, the moment we all look back on with fond joy and warm feelings.

I jumped over to my watch box and grabbed a piece I hardly wear or have had the occasion to, this Pierre Paulin jump-hour salmon dial. I put it on and said to myself, this will forever be the watch associated with this very special Christmas.

Happy Holidays watch fam 🎄☕️🤝

Beautiful watch! Merry Christmas

That watch looks amazing! I might have to buy one!

Also, it doesn’t get easier, my friend lol. You’ll see a million watches you’ll want. 🤣

·

My Seiko Cocktail time is the watch I wore when I landed my old job in Jersey that I, unfortunately, had to leave. It’s also the watch I wore when I married my best friend. The Invicta 1953 (despite being an Invicta 🤣) is the watch I got when my family went to Disney (my first time). My G Shock GW-9400 (Rangeman) is the watch that survived getting run over, shot at and countless patrols overseas and my G Shock DW-6640 is the watch my wife got me for Christmas this year. They’re all keepers with amazing memories and they’re never going anywhere.

That moment where you take the time to appreciate and acknowledge all the positive in your life is what it's all about.

Merry Christmas!

It is a good life…congrats

This is what it's all about. Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful lady.

Love the cats!

Great watch! I started wearing a watch in my late 20s and so the first watch I ever bought with my own money is also the watch I have most memories with. It's an affordable stunner (much like yours)! And I still look on it a lot more fondly than some others which are "cooler" to many watch nerds. That watch will always have a special glow in your watch box

Each watch creates a special memory, and each time you put it on, you relive these memories! This is why I love this hobby.

·

Beautiful watch, and a beautiful memory which you'll hopefully cherish every time you look down at your wrist. I wish you many more in the future. Have a great Christmas and happy new year

It’s odd. Salmon dials are a very specific choice. They’re different than the ubiquitous black and white and silver and blue dials we always see, but they aren’t a color you see very often. However, they have this uncanny ability to go with whatever color you may choose to wear. It’s really strange.

Man that thing is SHARP on that strap. Is it navy denim material? I was definitely stuck between the silver and salmon dials.

That’s incredible to hear! You can’t “buy” meaning, and I’m glad that the appreciation for these moments, regardless of the watch on the wrist, is universal in this community. I only hope to continue to build memories like these with more pieces in the watch box. Cheers my friend.

That’s really great. The watch is very nice and the meaning is ALWAYS more important in my opinion. I have a watch my wife got me for our wedding that although it’s not the most expensive, most luxurious, most whatever, it’s the meaning behind it ❤️

Welcome to watch collecting and enjoy the ride 🙌🏽
