Purpose of red dot on rotating bezel, Hanhart Pioneer 417 ES flyback

At the risk of sounding totally ignorant, I have no idea the intended purpose of the red dot and rotating bezel of this watch. I’ve tried looking it u...

Is this just part and parcel of the social media generation? It seems to me that civility is all but lost. I have no other explanation for such a stupid comment. Btw, that’s a killer Explorer II.

Environment conditions age everything…no matter how well maintained they are. However, the better the maintenance and care, aging will occur slowly and can produce wonderful character. Think of fine old piece of furniture. Air, humidity and normal wear can result in a gorgeous patinated finish when the piece has been lovingly cared for over the years.

Abuse, mishandling or exposure to extremes produce a look that is completely different. It is aged and it is certainly patinated but IMHO isn’t the least bit desirable.

This watch appears to be the latter. Those hands show signs of true neglect. The deep dial discoloration and spotting the indicate same.

Absolutely love this watch. I have the flyback version in 39mm. It holds its own against watches costing much more. The legibility is second to none.

commented on Not sold watches on Chrono24 before. How’s everyone’s experience selling? ·

I have never done a personal sell. I’ve used auction houses for a couple of higher end pieces. I will say, however, that I will NEVER purchase from Chrono24 again. I purchased a watch from GB through C24. I was not only charged 10.75% local sales tax but also my watch was held up in customs for weeks. I had to fill out a breakdown of the value of the movement, case and bracelet. I had no idea how to do this and C24 offered no help whatsoever. This caused another customs charge. Also when I made the initial purchase none of my credit cards were accepted necessitating an international wire transfer at a cost. I’ve purchased watches directly from GB and French dealers and never had to pay taxes nor do a customs breakdown.

Legibility is key for me. After that the other factors you’ve listed are of equal importance.

I purchased the medium version of the Santos RG, reference WGSA0028. The large felt too big and in RG a bit garish for me. I also prefer a no date complication. I chose two straps to tone it down even further. I love the watch and I find it easily dresses up or down. For sizing I have an 8” wrist.

I did my skydive when I turned fifty. My adrenaline was really pumping. A Seiko diver….how appropriate!
