Shoot for your recommendations on what is the best Casio (for you) with the following criteria:
-superb legibility in different viewing angles
-stopwatch
-timer (customizable)
-displays current time while in stopwatch/timer functions
-worldtime
-squarish (if possible, like the royale or gwm5610)
Saw the ws-1600h and liked it. However, it doesn't display the current time while in stopwatch/timer function. Can't also do custom timer.

My favorite Casio is my new G Shock GW5000U. Has all the functions of the GWM5610 and also has a full steel case and a screw-on case back.

Dont see these two a lot! Good ones!

Been thinking about this but I'm not really sold if the extra bucks would translate to a "significant" upgrade from my gwm5610. For one, I like the retro feel of the EL but the 5000u has definitely a better display and legibility.
Hey, I thought no G-Shock? 😂

You are right! Sorry. In that case, I would recommend the DW291. It is as durable as the DW290 or a G Shock, looks like the AE1200 "Royale", has the various functions you want, comes in a variety of colors, and can readily be found for less than $30.
Royale?
I agree, this one is almost like a Gshock. I love it.
Royale?
I would agree but sometimes wish the day date display was as legible as the AE1600...

You Divider. A 5000U is on the way 😂.
I see you wrote this:
but I'd go with the Casio Royale (AE-1200WH):
Do you have any issues with the Royale?
