Sure, but the J&K adds a bit to the L2L span and the combi-bracelet is overall a better fit to a square.
I do use the adapters when there are no other options, such as with the GM-S5600, but I would not consider them better than a combi-bracelet or a G-Shock strap from Vario. They are the lesser evil when the alternative is to keep the original plastic strap.

Yes, it's the V1. There are plenty of fake/clone/almost work but not quite combi-bracelets on ebay. It took me ages to find one selling the real SKU# so the only advise I can give you is to look for it there and be cautious and patient.
