Impulse buying

They always say: don't impulse buy. And I thought I will never do it.

Then this small watch came, and I couldn't resist. That dial obsessed me.

This small ZentRa is made maybe in the 1960s in West Germany. It's in a quite good condition, even the crown is defenately not original (I'll replace it) and the movement is noisy as a wall clock - btw it runs more than a day. I couldn't open up the back but I hope it hasn't got serious issues.

I payed 8500 HUF (cc 23 USD), I think it was worth it.

That's a lovely dial , awesome deal. Hope there's no major drama getting into it.

There's a big difference between the impulse buy of a so-so watch and jumping on a watch not previously being sought but unexpectedly knocks your socks off. The latter presents itself as an unforseen opportunity. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Cool - haven't seen that ZentRa before. An interesting brand that you don't see too often.

I was lucky to find a 1970s ZentRa Savoy racing chronograph a couple of years ago...

This is a Modell Cornett, I ran into some similar ones, but as I see ZentRa had a huge range of watches - and I love when I found a rabbit holes like this :)

I buy from the Hungarian market, and even most of the vintage watches in here are Soviet modells, you can find German watches (mainly dresswatches, not as cool ones as your chronograph). But indeed, ZentRa is a rarety even in Hungary, GDR wathes (GUB Glashütte, Anker and Ruhla) and major brands like Bifora are more common.

$23 USD? That's a steal. Heck I've paid for meals I didn't enjoy for more than that!
