Building my custom watch

After looking at a bunch of watches, and but being satisfied with how they are, decided on just building my own watch. Does this look good?

I'm curious, why go with an open heart movement and a solid dial?

Love this! How do you regulate this after putting it together, just being curious

Seconded, you could save some money on a differen movement. But I think this will be a handsome watch when it is done. Look forward to seeing how your project goes!

Glad I'm not the only one to spot the NH38. But then I thought about it and realised the reason could be the lack of ghost position.

I didn't care much about the open heart, I went with the 38 more because it doesn't have a date wheel and with this field watch aesthetic I was thinking it would look better without the date.

Yup! That's the only reason and the nh35 is 26 dollars and this 38 comes down to 27 for the sale. So not much of a difference

It’s the only no day date available in the Nh line that’s freely available as a copy and It saves ghosting the day date with a 34/35 the 38/39 is a great choice for a no day/date dial 👏🏻👏🏻

Spot on, I’ve built a few with the 38/39 it’s perfect movement for a time only dial 🎯

If you haven’t built a watch before, you may want to buy an extra set of hands, in case you mess one up, or there is a defect. Otherwise, be willing to wait 3 weeks for the re-order from China.

That's a good idea! The hands are pretty cheap might as well get some.

That's something I haven't quite thought about. My friend has a time grapher so maybe I could use that to get that dialed in

I've yet to receive a NH3X that wasn't running within tolerences from new.

Because the weight of the hands can play a role. Looking forward to see the result! Where are you ordering these parts ?

Ali Express. Pretty much the only place for me to get it

I haven't built my own watch, but I'd be curious to see how this one turns out.
