Upcoming Lorier Hydra Zulu

I saw and actually really like the watch. I do wish for this special edition they went with sapphire, given it’s supposed to be a rugged military-style watch.

Believe it or not, there are some real world benefits to acrylic. Not nearly as reflective/glinty as sapphire, even with ar coated sapphire. I mean a crystal will still always reflect, but acrylic less so than glass/gems.

Also less prone to smudgies from oil, etc, in my experience.

But I do understand the sentiment.

Personally, to really stand out, maybe a destro case 😂.

Who here misses the 80s? That was a much simpler time. The watches of that era reflect that sentiment. Love what Lorier is doing.

I could not agree with this more. My only complaint with Lorier is the acrylic crystal on EVERYTHING. Yes it's cool, yes it's vintage, yes it looks good, but what if I want to actually wear it outside and do some adventuring? I've spoken with Lorenzo and I absolutely see his point of view and what he wants Lorier to be, but dude, give me one version of one watch with a sapphire, come on, I want to give you my money! (Also, yes, the Zephyr has a sapphire due to case shape, but I mean their sports/tool watches)

I was just going to refer to the zephyr. It’s the only Lorier watch I own and one of my personal favorites. As soon as I saw it, and that it was sapphire, I snapped it up.

While I wholeheartedly respect Lorier for their brand-vision and what they’re doing for the watch world, I can guarantee that they’d sell more models if they all had a sapphire crystal.

I have my Lorier Hyperion Skyward so as much as I find this design unique, I lm passing on this one. However this does give me an idea of a potential future seiko build 🤔

Might have been interested if not for the fauxtina. Man, I hate that look.

Saphire is not the toughest material. It's just better against scratches.

Just for reference, I've dropped out of perfectly good helicopters, done some range work, and plenty of shooting drills with this one. Granted I sometimes flip it underside of I'm working around aircraft.

Not too mention wearing it aroundthe FAR more worst enemy of watches and their crystals, the DREADED Door Jamb of Doom and/or the DASTARDLY Dryer Door.

Also changed quite a few diapers, and good thing the bezel action is so crisp and long lasting, cuz while changing said diaper, the DaughterYetti loves to spin it lol.

Anyway, this is with zero Polywatch, received it November '21.

Believe I get it, even though I am a firm believer in #useyourtools , I'm kinda gentle-ish until I get that first "BONK" out of the way, then it's: "Let's GOOOOOO......🤏🏻🫣😎"

Not to mention resistance to shattering which makes sense for a tactical watch.
