German watch enthusiast with a below 6โ wrist living in the homeland of watches. In love with the elegance of dress watches, the cleanliness of the Bauhaus design school, and the utility of tool watches. Ideally looking for that single piece that can pull it off all at once but very far away from a one watch collection. ๐ซ
On my current shortlist: Stowa Partitio, Speedmaster reduced, Seamaster 36mm from the early 2000s, Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat
Authenticating a vintage handwound Junghans (1950-1960?)
Hi all, first post here so please bear with me. During a recent trip to Paris, I picked up this vintage Junghans I fell in love with. The flea market...
As an owner of a BB36, you really made me want to get this one too! Such a great release from Seiko. Congrats on this spectacular piece (and bargain)! ๐
Congrats, Max! I would enjoy content about vintage-inspired watches, esp. for the folks with smaller wrists like myself :) Keep up the great work! Regards from Barcelonaย
I am both a sucker for Bauhaus and an admirer of SEIKO's overall value proposition with many of their watches. I have owned a Sarb033 in the past and recently switched from a Junghans Max Bill 38mm automatic no-date with plexiglass to a Junghans Max Bill Kleine automatic 34mm with Sapphire crystal.ย
If you decide to go for the Junghans in the end, I would consider to pay the premium for the Sapphire crystal (they added the option recently for the different case size versions). It is very well executed and "imitates" the plexi nicely. I personally bought it for the peace of mind and no scratches. The distortions at different angles are also very appealing.
