Should I regret?

Hey community

I am still a student pursuing my engineering degree.

I only have a couple of timex watches and a few smartwatches but always wanted to buy a known brand watch. I still remember the days I used to go with my parents to different malls and showrooms and seeing these expensive watches behind glass walls and one of these brands were fossil.

Now after some time of saving money, I pulled the trigger and bought a watch that has been on my radar for some time. But after watching some youtubers like ben's watch club, I now have a feeling that fossil is a not so good brand. Kind of like regret buying this watch. How should I feel about this?

Do you like the watch? If yes, who cares what a talking head on the internet says. It's a good looking watch, and I bet it tells the time effectively.

Remember that what some influencer considers important may mean nothing at all to you.

Also, Timex is one of the most recognized watch brands out there, so you already had a "known" brand.

If you like the watch, who cares? It's a fairly subtle chronograph design, and is probably powered by a mechaquartz movement. Just enjoy wearing it, and press the chrono-buttons lightly, if you must.

TBF (to be frank), absolutely screw the talking heads.

Nothing against any of them, in fact for reviews and design, wearability, etc they are a great resource.

But every single one I've ever seen will eventually talk about "moving" up market. (almost) EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

They are influencers, and need clicks, watches, and buys from their linked stuff to feed their fams, it's their business. Don't begrudge them at all, but just remember that when watching any of the talking heads.

Fudge what any YouTubers say. Their opinion is based on clicks/views, appealing to the masses.

Buy what you like and enjoy. Don’t regret buying something you like cause someone else doesn’t like.

I don't think you should regret something that you feel suits your style, budget and interest in, until this day Fossil is a good brand to have in your collection I say that from experience of owning a few myself back then but other than that looking at some watch reviewer is a good place to get a more in-depth look at some watches but at the end of the day most YouTubers are voicing their own opinion as much as you have your own, so enjoy the Fossil until the wheels fall off

Nice watch firstly. As with the other comments, ignore all that if you like the watch. None of the criticism seems to be about reliability so it’s all really subjective. I’ve had one for nearly 15 years, automatic (Chinese-made?) movement is still going strong. I have other watches now but the Fossil is a regular wear still. It’s also my most sentimental one, it was the first gift I received from my now wife, it was the only watch I had for years so wore it at big moments like my marriage and birth of kids. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine!
