Longines Hydroconquest VS Oris Aquis
I'm a dad. For the birth of my daughter in 2020 and for my 30th birthday, I bouger the Longines Hydroconquest. In 2023, my second and FINAL child, my son, was born. I wanted to celebrate this moment by buying a new watch, the Oris Aquis. I wanted a watch with the same value for money as the Longines. Today, I love both. And you ? Do you prefer the Oris or the Longines? Could you explain why ? Do you also buy watches to celebrate moments in your life?

I prefer the Longines as I have it in green! The Oris is nice, but it doesn’t call to me. Both great watches though.
I really like both, but if I had to buy only one for me to wear it'd be the Longines, probably because my wife has a similar women's Longines.
Both are really nice divers - although Oris speaks to me a bit more design-wise, I'd lean towards the Longines for the beautiful blue dial! Great combo!
I chose Longines. I’ve never liked the shape of the lugs on the Oris Aquis.
And I own a blue Hydroconquest.
Both nice watches, but I'd pick the Oris.
Why?
I have too many blue dial watches and that green is niiiice. Add the date window at 6 o'clock and the non-snowflake-esque hand on it and that's the separator for me.
Bought the Hydro in October to mark the passing of my Dad. Bought the BB58 in August 2022 when my Mum died.

I think the Oris has a more interesting dial....plus that green is mean....🟩
Oris is a little better in quality imo especially the bracelet.
I have a grey Hydroconquest and a green Aquis. It’s close but on balance I prefer the Longines.
Congrats on your children! I personally prefer Longines but the Oris is no slouch. Do I buy watches to celebrate special moments? No, as the watches I want are never available when I want and I have to wait multiple years for them haha

I agree. The bracelet is better on the oris. I think I will put my Hydro on a rubber strap from Longines.
