I don’t think I’m snobbish at all. I just want my watches to last since I don’t sell them off anymore. Besides I’d rather have my $20 Timex over any fashion brand or Ali express brand. I don’t think this is snobby
I like it within the context of having a variety of watches, not as a daily. But definitely cool watch to break out in certain situations. I’d wear it if I’m celebrating a friend/relative/coworker special occasion, on Fridays when I’m leaving early, and I’d probably wear it if I was getting ready to collect on a winning lottery ticket!
I like the GP. I’ve always liked the GP. And one can likely get a discount on one. I do not feel it’s a copy of the Royal Oak. I use sporty cars as a comparison. If you have 2 mid engine rear wheel drive sports cars, they’re not copies of each other even they share a similar configuration. As for PP, I’ve just never been excited with their designs. Yes they’re top tier but for PP money-(if I was not another “mere mortal”)I’d get 3-4 nice watches I’d be extremely happy with.
I’m very careful about what I buy so I’ve managed to really like all of them. I’ll wear a new watch for probably a couple of weeks exclusively, but then I go back to my old ones. I probably average one watch per week but I have times when I switch out daily.
If I was forced to do a 3 watch set, I guess I’d do a diver, pilot, and maybe a field watch for daily use
