Hey community! Wanted to see if anyone knows of a good watch repair shop in the San Francisco Bay Area?
I have a Citizen Eagle 7 automatic that seems to need maintenance. It runs, but at some point just stops, even after moving and walking all day. Seems quite strange, I got it from EBay, so no warranty or similar.
Iโd appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks a lot! ๐

I'm gonna follow this as I also would like to know. Golden time jewlers in Redwood City does offer repairs if I remember correctly
I hear good things about Topper Jewelers. If they can't help you they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Check out this thread from about 5 months ago, they had a recommendation.

World Time if youโre in the South Bay San Jose area.
Sorry; not in the Bay Area. But if you strike out there and are ok shipping, you might try Dโs Time Service in San Diego. Iโve had very good service from them.
The Seiko (and Citizen and Bulova) AD in the Mission district in SF told me that when watches are out of warranty they take them to a watch repair shop nearby, Ken Jewelry in 3525 20th street, that has been there for decades and is very trustworthy.
Maybe an optionโฆ

So I had a similar issue with an Etsy-purchased 7. Mumbai special that had been โservicedโ with sub par lubricants thatl gummed the hair spring (stopped in a similar fashion). Ended up getting an NOS movement put in as my watchmaker just couldnโt get it clean enough to function properly.
FWIW, yours seems to have a Franken dial, but itโs a cool one. Genuine Citizens will always have the movement number in tiny print to the left of the 6 oโclock index with the reference, to the right plus the Citizen logo and Eagle will always be applied. Hereโs my โ82 model for an example:
Thank you all! Extremely helpful advice, Iโll check all the locations. Really appreciate all of you ๐

Thanks Wolfgang! Yeah, I was trying to convince myself that it was not a Mumbai Special, but the movement at 6 is a great reference, so now is truly confirmed. That 82 model is a an awesome watch!

Iโve had several repairs done here.
Setrak's or Geneva Watch Repair on Post Street, Leonel Watch Repair in San Bruno or Rolliworks in Campbell are my go tos.
Search citizen on the web. There is a very easy form on Citizens site that you can fill out and mail the watch to their service center in CA. They will look at it and give you a price to fix it and you can say yes and give them credit card info or say no and have them send it back. I did it with an Eco drive I had that was 8 years old. I was very happy with the result.
That Citizen is totes gorg bro!

Thanks a lot, Oliver! Iโm excited to get it fixed so it gets more wrist time. ๐
