SRPE19J1 vs SRPH93J1

Hi everyone, I'm looking to add a dress watch to my collection soon, something versatile that would work for most occasions. I've been considering two options from Seiko: the Seiko Cocktail 40.5mm Ice Blue and the Seiko Presage Style 60's 40.8mm Cream. I'd love to hear your thoughts on these two choices. What are the pros and cons of each watch in terms of style and versatility? Are there any other dress watches you'd recommend that might fit the bill? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've got the Seiko Cocktail and love its look.

The SRPH93J1 wouldn‘t be a watch that I would call dresswatch. Both are great watches though and maybe you can also check the Seiko Presage Sharp Edge series. They are a little bit smaller than 40mm and have a more compact size than these offerings here. Further suggestions from myside: Orient Bambino 38mm, Citizen NB1050, Seiko SARB035, Longines Record (the 38.5mm version), Longines Saint Imier (also 38.5mm), a little bit higher priced: Tudor Style 38, Citizen BM7620 (new release, everyday EcoDrive watch), entry level 37mm GS quartz pieces (for example SBGX line), Certina DS 7, Tissot PRX, Gentleman, PR100, Omega Aqua Terra Quartz versions from first and second generation (used market).

Agreed, not a dress watch per say, but I Guess it depends on what you think of as dressy. These days people will wear sneakers to a formal event.

+1 for the Bambino!

I think the Presage dive style watches should be thought of more like a Seiko Black Bay.

Not many. And if they do they’re either wealthy or children.
