Oh nice. It all depends on why kind of watch you want and what movement. Hamilton are always a good jump off point. A khaki field if you want a mechanical or maybe a Christopher Ward. They both have a very good range under 1k
The list is quite big it all depends on style and taste. If you want any advice I would just take your time and don’t buy hype, buy what you like and if possible go to. An AD and try on if possible (sadly Christopher Ward are direct only). I have a watch from both these brands and they are a good option.
Guessing most would point you at a Hamilton or Christopher Ward in that price range. I have had both brands and they are decent. Plenty micro brands around that price but guess Hamilton and CW are the 'tried and tested' choices. Always worth seeing what Jura watches have in their sales.
Under a 1000 you say ok, the Bulova Luna Pilot is an absolutely fantastic piece ( If you would like a Quartz that is!), and if you’re lucky, you can probably pick one up for under 600

Good place to start if you are interested in microbrands. Baltic won this year. https://www.watchcrunch.com/AllTheWatches/posts/the-2024-march-micro-tournament-final-four-recap-351025
Longines has real beautiful watches at that price point.

Seiko, Citizen, Casio, Bulova have many field and pilot watches at that price point and also below 500 if you opt for quartz or solar.
In the current market you've plenty of choice, it's more a matter of figuring out your preference.
