Restoration of a 100 year old drill press

If I’m not working on watches I enjoy restoring old tools and machines. Here’s a nearly 100 year old sensitive drill press I’ve restored. Fortunately it must’ve been used very sparingly in its life because the bushings and spindle are still in excellent condition.

Nice one, that is brilliant piece of engineering 🔧

More & more I feel like aesthetic design peaked with Art Deco. The flowing lines, smooth transitions and just overall vibe of these now ~100 year old items is just chef's kiss. Excellent job on this

Very cool. Tiffany blue?

Does it fit today's 6mm shanks for bits?

The collets are similar to 4.5mm and a strange threading. Have to do more experiments to find more compatible ones. At least I have a few for now
