What do you guys think of Corniche watches? What other watch would you suggest for 400-900$

Hi watchers, my friend wants to buy a watch in a price range of 400 to 900$ and came across this beautiful Corniche chronograph which to me is really pretty but ive heard the build quality is not adequate for the price but the movement is good, a seiko (i think) meca quartz. But I just heard about this brand when my friend asked me about it and i felt embarrassed not knowing the brand because of my constant bragging how i know a lot about watches. Non the less i want your guys' opinion on it, its 450$ or so.

AND what other watch would you suggest that has this style? Doesnt have to be a chronograph but and older looking type of watch. For example a Tissot Le Locle.

How about a Baltic Bi-Compax.

A Seagull manual wind instead of a mecaquartz but people speak well if these. I’ve just got a Studio Underdog Goofy Panda with the same movement and so far so good.

I'm not familiar with Corniche. But for a quartz chrono he should have plenty of options at $500 or below.

At the top of the list there's Citizen and Seiko themselves. Also consider Dan Henry, Yema, Bulova, Tissot and Timex. I'll also mention Brew. Their styling is very different to the watch pictured above, but still kind of retro-looking.

And if he has any interest in mechanical chronos, there's always the Seagull 1963.

I would get a Furlan Mari chronograph. Seiko mecaquartz movement and better build quality. And their watches are beautiful.

Style wise I like it.

I've never heard of the brand Corniche, but have to say that it's a very attractive watch.

I would echo the previous comments regarding Furlan Marri or Dan Henry, but would also add Haim to the mix. I love the look of their Legacy SE chronos. I can't speak to the quality of any of those brands, but they all have offerings that appear to meet the design criteria.

I bought a Heritage 40 a number of years ago after seeing them on Instagram, before they were making chronographs. I personally love the look of most of their watches and like the link to the south of france, but think there are some other great watches at that price point.

My pick is this one or any one with the Poljot 3133 manual wind chronograph movement.

These are made on equipment that Russia purchased from Valjox to make the 7734. I own one in a Strela and it winds and sets like butter. Not only that it is accurate and reliable. Links below for where to buy and the history of the movement.
