[Barton Straps] Canvas Straps Quick Review (Army Green)
In preparation for summer, I wanted to try my hands (wrist?) on some canvas straps. I heard some good things about Barton, and here we are.
Comes in a nice neat box.
Looks great with the Mako II
Dresses down the Hamilton nicely.
It's light, it's quite comfy, and it feels sturdy. However I have been reading that these do fray fairly quickly (month~year), we'll see how that goes.
The quick change system is fun, but it creates some unnecessary stress at the ends I think.
All in all, not at all bad for ~US$25!

Thanks for the review - I'm curious if you can expand on the "unnecessary stress at the ends" comment due to quick release spring bars. Many of my bands have them and wasn't aware of any issue or possible issues. Thanks !

He may be referring to the slit in the canvas for the quick release bar. It creates a potential weak point as it is essentially a cut in the canvas without any reinforcement. I have a number of Barton canvas straps and it has never really been an issue, but a couple of the cuts have expanded slightly and it may be an issue in the future.

@Candide3693 explained it better than I have but basically this area juts out a little due to the cut hole, and I as I thought will widen over time.
