Nomos Ludwig ?!

Im looking for an elegant dress watch at work. This one keeps me excited everyone I think about it. Does anyone have a particular opinion on it or experience with it? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I’m a Nomos fan so that’s a great choice. But if you really want to flex, go with a Cartier Tank.

I ordered the Nomos Ludwig in January. I always wanted a Nomos, and convinced myself that it would be best to go for the Ludwig to make it as dressy as possible. Also, there was a discount available on this, but not on the tangente (my real favourite).

When it arrived, I was surprised at just how small it looked on the wrist. It doesn’t really come across on this picture:

Anyway, I was underwhelmed, and I returned it within 2 hours.

I have since bought a Stowa Marine 36 Roman instead:

Just my experience. I love Nomos though - I have a tangente 38 datum on order at the moment.

I love Nomos. I prefer Tangente though.

My brain goes “what???” every time I see the Roman numerals on Ludwig going XII -> I -> II -> I 🤯

The stows is a pretty alternative! Thanks for sharing and enjoy that watch 🤩

It’s a nice piece. Nomos makes a great product in their price range.

If you think about the Ludwig, I strongly recommend to consider the 41mm with the roman numerals in the date. This watch winks at you every time you will look at it, while having the serious facade or a dress watch.

The 175 years edition of the Ludwig, also with roman numerals in the date, has leaf-shaped hands, that add - in my opinion - a bit more class, compared to the stick hands that we are all used to when it comes to Nomos. However, the trade off is the harsh-white of the enamel painted dial in the 175 edition, versus the more mellow galvanized silver dial of the regular edition. And you will need to look around a bit to find an example of the 175 years version, which do not come up for sale too often.

Both versions of the watch are elegant and quite thin, and therefore project a bit smaller, as it got mentioned above by WatchBee. Some might say, like a dress watch should. I do.

Just here to say that I have no experience with Nomos whatsoever. However, that's a situation I hope to rectify someday.
