Seiko’s Quality Issues: Let’s play a game!

That’s one of my favorite Seiko references from recent years, but sadly it’s full of quality issues. Let’s play a small game - how many issue can you...

What's your favorite titanium field/explorer watch?

I tried the Longines last year and it felt a bit big on my 17cm wrist (mostly because of the very long lugs). In general I can buy a more expensive watch if I really like one, but I just didn't see many options that were particularly appealing to me on the market. On the higher end I'm mostly thinking about a Pelagos of some sort.

Looks nice, but I really dislike SWC's logo.

I tried it last year, but the lugs are bit too long for me. In they make it in smaller size I'd consider it again.

The RZE was a good watch but the Formex definitely has it beat.

Can you elaborate a bit on what do you prefer more about the Formex vs the RZE? Btw, I do love the velcro straps of the Formex Field! I wonder why so few watches are using them by default, as for me that's the natural fit for an "adventure watch".

You might also want to check out the Boldr Venture line as a more affordable alternative and Zelos recently came out with a new line of titanium field watches.

I've seen them both, but I don't like the designs much. From what I gathered the person behind RZE used be in Boldr in the past, but decided to go in a different direction. Zelos make great watches, but their designs (especially their handsets) rarely speak to me.

I've never seen this reference. Looks awesome!

That's a looker! I thought about it myself, but I live in an area with poor radio tower signal reception and I'm too cheap to get the GPS version. 😀

4 Seiko 6R35 movements that are accurate - you must be one really lucky person! 😀
