And while I'm intrigued by bronze divers I'm conscious I'll very probably never actually get one, outside of divers I just don't see myself considering it…

I am very happy with the build quality of my Laco and would recommend it.

One note since you mentioned customization - when a watch brand is available via retail/AD I always prefer this option instead of direct via brand website, to build a relationship with the shop and to have a more personal option in case of issues. I bought mine here in Milano and be advised that with the two customizations I requested (the metal bracelet and the upgraded movement) it took me two months to receive it :)

My order of preference on a scale of "would end up wearing the most".

1. Zenith Chronomaster Revival Shadow

2. Omega Constellation Globemaster, blue on steel

3. Glashutte Original PanoReserve, blue on steel (preowned at 8k)

You're absolutely correct, I do (I did mention it 🙂).

If they were a new kid on the block they'd give off the same vibe as those Alix brands with fake Euro names. Like "Lobinni Interlaken". Japan has a rich culture of aesthetics and visual communication. It's a pity they used such a goofy logo.

It's not math with its harsh certainties. It's communication and semiotics, and is subject to human interpretation. Seiko is fortunate that, to a non native speaker, it has no significance and does not sound goofy. Orient does have a meaning, as does the graphic in the logo, and the two clash in direct opposition of meaning.
