[Ref 6218-8950] Seiko - Seikomatic 35j from 1965. I call it the "Dolphin King" as referred to the 2nd photo.
This my first vintage watch which i acquired 3 years ago. This got me hooked into collecting vintage, "affordable" timepieces. The date is quickset while the day is set by repeatedly moving the hour hand back and forwards past midnight. 18,000 bph with hacking seconds. This watch is running at +6 seconds per day, not bad for a 58 year old timepiece. 😊
*Quick history: At the time of its debut, the 6218 was flagship of Seiko’s high-end automatic line, sharing the same 35 and 39 jeweled automatic movement as the 57GS and 62GS (the first automatic Grand Seiko). It’s the precursor to the Grand Seiko Chronometer 6245 or 6246 and there’s virtually no difference between the movements.

Beautiful piece!
My watch maker would lose it seeing Water Proof
. It drives him nuts when I ask him to make sure my piece is water proof😂, I like that charm vintage watches offer. It’s the little details.
Congratulations! What a good looking watch. I am growing increasingly interested in vintage Seikos but there is so much to choose from. It's hard to know where to start.

Don't mind which model to choose from or which complication. Just buy the one that you like aesthetically, the rest will be history....

Did you purchased one already? 😄

Haha! Not yet. I haven't decided which one to get but it's only a matter of time. Most likely my next purchase will be a vintage Seiko.
