The Phantom Menace - Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB

When Lucas released the Phantom

Menace, despite poor reviews, it was a hit.

It will never be considered an amazing film, but it has it’s place.

This is how I see the Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB. It sells by the bucket load, so must be a hit, but it will never set the Watch World on fire.

I, like some Star Wars lovers, am a fan.

This watch cost me €60. Brand new, from Amazon.

It is cheap, fun and when you brush out the shiny mid links in the bracelet with a Brillo pad (easy to do and takes 30 seconds - just only scrub in one direction) looks great. It looks like a sub.

Ignore the logo, the writing on the side (which you honestly never look at), the rubbish lume and the cheap clasp - no worse than a Seiko. And for €60 you have a really cool GADA watch.

And, it’s not a homage in my opinion.

It’s an invicta. Invicta make watches and this is their watch; the really rather lovable 8926OB.

May the force be with you.

This is a line from Invicta I have had my eye on. They look good, have a solid reputation and can be had at a reasonable cost. Nice job picking one up.

I have that, and also this is on its way. .. I see nothing wrong with them.

They are great and for the price, you can’t go wrong!

Very nice! Love it 👊

Don't let any snob look down on that watch. It one for the few watches that can be a real adventure watch.

You'll have no concerns about swimming in ocean, white water rafting or anything else when wearing thatwatch.

All these premium watches will never do what they are designed for, but these will.

Totally agree! I wear it with pride 😀

My white Pro Diver is a favorite in my collection. For most of the Invicta line, the lume is "meh," but this one is a bit different.

And the watch you chose is the OG - a smart choice super value and a solid, dependable automatic with that NH35A movement. 👍

I have one and love it. Yes, they also make weird stuff, but that is in their gift to do so. Go Invicta #divewatch 😁

Love that white dial!

Love that white dial!

Thanks!

I don't think they make that one anymore (mod# 12167). I bought mine accidentally one drunken night off eBay, thinking it was an Invicta Grand Diver. 😂 I don't regret the mistake, since it's actually a better size, and as I mentioned above, it's now a favorite. 👍

I am a Star Wars fan too.

My favourite character is Mr. Spock.

😂

My first mechanical watch was an Invicta

My Invicta collection started with the 8926OB and mainly focuses on Pro Divers, as well as some other “standard” watch models. Of note are the Pro Diver 1953s and Grand Divers. I know they are not for everyone, but some have decent specs, wear well, and look good on my wrist.

I'm a Pro Diver fan, they look great on the wrist and the polished center links pop!

I've bought my son two of them over the past couple years, we love them.

Every time I see you post a picture of your white dial Pro Diver, I end up searching for one on eBay, lol

That is such a great looking watch, but impossible to find. I've found the Grand Diver version, but it's just too big for my wrist.

I'm jealous!

Wear what you want and enjoy I say!

I need to get a bracelet for mine. The one it came with gives me a reaction if i get a little sweaty. I belive that one can even swap out the display case back for one that doesn't stand up so much.

Image

The rose gold isn't as versatile but I like that it's blingy!

·

I picked up the quart pro diver during Amazon prime days for around $35. It’s a good looking watch. I feel like a poser when wearing it because it looks so much like a Sub. I need to realize 99% of people would never be able to tell…or care!!

Totally agree! I had the quartz 37mm at one point, but felt it was a touch too small. It was amazing value though and yes, looks just like the real sub!

Yeah I definitely need more straps! Thanks!

That's a great price on a really sturdy watch.

On April 6, 2010, Rolex sued Invicta, because of how close its design was to the Sub-Mariner. One of the changes that Invicta was forced to make, in order to make their watch "readily differentiated" from the Rolex was to have the Invicta logo in BIG letters engraved on the side of the case.

That's right: the big Invicta logo that everyone hates is there because Rolex (ROLEX!) saw the Invicta as a threat to their business! You can't make this stuff up!!

That's one of the reasons that I really respect Invicta. Everyone says they're cheap / built without Q/C, but apparently, they're built well enough to make Rolex nervous! 😜🤣

Just out of curiosity.... What's the model number of the Grand Diver version that you found?

I think its 10640

if you search eBay and type in "invicta white dial grand diver" two for sale should pop up

One is new with box and papers for $299, the other is used for $225

They look really good, but at 47mm, I'm out of the game!

Good luck!
