Shipping insured expensive watches

Hi there, one question. I might sell my Explorer 124270 through Chrono24 from Spain. When shipping a watch it must be fully insured but the shipping companies I work with all seem to only insure up to 2.500 euros worth of watch. I've found one company that insures up to 5.000 but that still not the price of such watches. Do any of you have any recommendation for shipping and insurance companies?

Sorry, other than offering you $2500, I’ve got nothing. Good luck.

I pulled out of a sale to a gent in Italy as I couldn’t get it insured for shipping. It’s a tricky one.

I Know for certain that you can insure high priced items with DHL. Take a look at their website

A cautionary tale. My elderly mother posted my grandfather's 1960/70s Seamaster to me here in Spain. It was insured, though I forget how much for. She sent it via a UK post office, who then gave it to GLS. Long story short, they lost it. Then I couldn't claim because I didn't have the original receipt. Why would I have a receipt for a 50+ y/o watch? They wouldn't even pay out on the cost of their own postage. Tssk.

Wow, that's terrible. Thanks for sharing!

A contact from a group at Facebook has given me this solution and seems to be a good one. I write it here so it might be of some help to others too: https://www.secursus.com/en-gb/

Hi Joseph, I still haven't made my mind and I'm not really sure if I will sell it. The probability is growing but I need more time to decide. If I do I'm also not sure what I will do with the many straps I have. A few might go with the sale or if you still interested we can arrange something of course :)

ah cool! I hope all is well brother. yeah shoot me a DM whenever you want to let it go, I'm not going to part with my Explorer and have 3 watches with 19mm lug width so it would be great if we could work something out! Haha

Looks like insurance cost is approx 1% of value.

However, you must provide the tracking number which could involve actually handing over the parcel to the shipping company in order to get the tracking details which might mean, for a short time, the package is not covered.

The tracking number is usually provided online the moment you hire the shipping. The shipping must also be the type of pick up at home and delivered under signature at the recipient address, so it's covered all the way.
