Explorer Goosebumps

Friends, today I took my son. @MrRedDot to my AD to watch shop. Watch his feed to see what he waitlisted (hint: no date)

My AD is awesome. I wasn’t really shopping, he was. We looked at Rolex, Tudor, Breitling, Omega et al. Must have tried on a million watches.

I’ve been thinking about my next watch purchase. 2024 / 2025 ballpark. I had low key decided that one of the contenders would be an Explorer.

Crunchers… when I put on the Explorer I got goosebumps and the hairs on my arm stood up. As a friend much wiser than me on this site told me, you should have a visceral reaction to a watch when you put it on, it happened today.

The Explorer is now the front runner for the next watch purchase. Now to try on the Cartier Santos…

So glad to hear that! The Santos and Explorer are such great everyday offerings. Beautiful in aesthetic, historic in legacy, and designed for adventure!

My friend, I loved it so much it has me questioning every watch in my box 😳. Speedmaster for Explorer? Seems like a fair trade.

I also see the Explorer in my future for 2025!

Whatever makes you happy with watches, go for it. I love the smooth sweep of a Rolex second hand, quartz analog watches just do not compare to their mechanical brothers to me because of this. The highly polished sections will not remain even if you work in an office unless you keep it under sleeve (but not french cuffs) , so just know that going it will get scratches and you will be fine. Like a new car, that first scratch hurts and you are probably the only one who sees it, the 30th, not so much.

The Explorer is a perfect watch, I understand your reaction! Hoping it will also be my next major purchase around the same timeframe, good luck to us both!

Great piece. I picked my 40mm Explorer up a month or so ago. Absolutely stunning! I love it.

I ordered the Rubber B for it and it didn't disappoint. 🔥🔥🔥

I hope you get your's soon! 🙏🤞

The Explorer is such a universal classic. I love it.

I predict you gonna enjoy both!

Hard to go wrong with the Explorer! No telling how long a wait may be for one, although my wait was surprisingly short, just under 4 months, earlier this year.

You can likely get a Santos without waiting. At least I could have walked out of the AD with the medium green dial on my wrist a few weeks ago. But, left with a Tank Must on my wife’s wrist instead!

4 months is great! My DJ only took about 4 months as well. Wait times seem to be getting shorter. That Santos is sharp!

It is a beauty!

The Explorer is nice. It was one of the 3 Rolexes I was considering, along with the AirKing and the Rhodium 39mm OP.

I went with the AirKing because it is so quirky and different, but I really like the Explorer.

Good luck, I hope your wait isn't too long!
