Commemorative Watch

Today my father’s very close friend picked me up and took me out to eat and bought himself and me a Seiko Speedtimer. The reasoning for him buying him buying us “matching” watches is much more than him being a nice friend. My father passed away last Friday, he had a horrible cycling accident and for a week long my family and all his loved ones hoped he’d wake up. Sadly the doctors told us the worst news imaginable and all hope was lost. My father was a very outgoing man, always looking to make people laugh. Rather than mourn and cry his death, my family and friends alike have laughed and smiled remebering what a character he was. My dads very close friend who was almost like another son to him and a brother to me took me out and to commemorate my fathers life he decided to get us almost matching speed timers. We chose speed timers because my dads first watch was a seiko chronograph with a tachymeter. It was an obvious choice to get a speedtimer. My new watch carrys so much significance and truly means something to me. Something a watch hasn’t ever made me feel.

Thank you for sharing this

I’m sorry for your lose.

I’m happy you have that close relationship with your dad best friends.

And what he did was really awsome to honor you father’s life.

My condolences and all the best to you and your family.

Every time you wear that watch you'll be reminded of your father, so keep it close-- it will be one of the most (if not *the* most) valuable watches in your collection.
