Dutch, tall, not particularly interested in premium or luxury brands but rather focused on microbrands and Weird stuff. That's "Weird" with a capital W for all of you who weren't paying attention.
Luckily, watches are a luxury and not a basic need-- and I have quite a few already. If I somehow were never able to buy a watch again, I'd be perfectly fine. That being said, I've not been looking to get big Swiss brands on my wrist, so my collecting may not have been impacted as much. I've been able to buy five really cool watches this year, up to now, so I really have nothing to complain about.
My condolences and all the best to you and your family.
Every time you wear that watch you'll be reminded of your father, so keep it close-- it will be one of the most (if not *the* most) valuable watches in your collection.
They have made some cool watches. Notice how I'm speaking in past perfect tense? I like the 1926, I like the North Flag, and that one heritage chrono (sorry, the exact name escapes me). The current lineup though? Zero interest.

I have one too, is a great watch. Mine doesn't have the display caseback though-- which is both truer to the original and a shame, as the movement truly is amazing. Congratulations and may you wear it in good health.
It figures that this is underrated... I think Longines as a brand is underrated. Shameful what the Swatch Group have done with one of the biggest names in their portfolio.
