MoonSwatch: beautiful watch, terrible experience.

Hi everyone! I’m here to share my bittersweet experience with the MoonSwatch. I live in Brazil and a friend, who was travelling to the United States (NY) brought this watch for me.

At first, I really liked the watch. It is very beautiful, and in my opinion, Swatch paid close attention to the details. Sure, it is light, made of plastic, seems kinda fragile, but it’s a Swatch. I was not expecting an Omega.

But the real problem appeared very quickly. When I pulled the crown to the 2nd position and tried to set the time, guess what? Nothing happened. The crown doesn’t work. No matter how much I rotate it, it just won’t work.

I tried to contact Swatch through email, asking how could I solve this problem. Maybe I could ship the watch for repair, because there are no Swatch boutiques in Brazil, and I’m not planning to travel abroad anytime soon. The answer was really simple: the watch has a 3 year international warranty, but I have to bring it to a Swatch boutique in person. Well, like I said, this is not happening anytime soon.

The watch is working fine (except for the crown haha), so I just stopped it and pushed the crown hours later to set the correct time.

I’m very upset with this situation, especially considering that this is not a very cheap watch (250 dollars it’s more than the montly minimum wage in Brazil…).

Well, at least the finishing it’s good and the watch looks nice on wrist. Maybe I’ll wear it on some friday nights. It’s just a toy watch, nothing more than that.

Ok I had the same problem thinking it’s the watch, but you have to really pull for the second position of the crown you might think you did it but nope still pull… try it out trust me I have two of these…

If I pull it any harder, it will surely break. I’ve already tried that. And the watch stops when I pull the crown to the 2nd position, so I assume I’m doing it right😭

Sorry brother, what a disappointment. I commend your positive attitude.

Your correct its a toy 🧸. Lesson learnt I hope . People might not like my comment but it is my firm opinion this toy is waste of money .

My hour chrono didn’t work out the box. I’m in the US but my state doesn’t have a Swatch boutique and even tho it’s no big deal to not have a fully functional chronograph it feels *broken* to me and I don’t wear it as a result

It’s a damn shame a company the size of Swatch imposes customers to visit a physical location to exercise a warranty - wtf?? Perhaps you can contact the Swatch store in NY, explain your situation to a manager and an exception can be made for you mail the watch to that store. Good luck 🤙

That’s a bummer. Sorry for the trouble.

That is exactly how I feel.

Go Pagani next time you won’t be disappointed. For the money you spend could get the homage version even better.
