Last To Know

Hello All.

I just found out about this place and signed up for a test drive. I see some old forum pals from the crazy-ole-days.

My collection is fairly settled now so I'm not quite as active as I used to be on forums or acquisitions. But I still like to learn and lurk even though I'm supposed to be in consolidation mode. 😏

Cheers!

BTW: jaw = initials

Welcome to Watchcrunch.  I don't think it matters too much what kind of watches you're into or where you are in your collecting journey, this is a pretty good place to learn.  I don't know a ton about watches, so I'm always seeing something new here, but I think even the vets of the watch world will see and learn some new stuff.  Anyway, hope you enjoy your time here and post some pictures when you can.

Cheers.

Welcome! Whether starting out or settled (like what many of us tell ourselves), I think you will like it here.

Yeah, I didn't want to call OP out, but I don't understand this concept of "settled".  Like how does that even work?

How does that work? Well...

At some point, you may realize that you've managed to acquire most of the watches you've always wanted (excluding the unattainable, of course).

You may also reach a stage where you stop and reverse the accumulation of things.

Once satiated with watches, they just become less of a priority and you move on to the next thing.

Directives change - Less quantity to more quality, then a few good specimens, to eventually only the absolute minimum keepers.

Any or all of the above can happen (eventually) - Trust me.

I believe you man, just joking.  I'm not there myself, but I can see how it can happen.  Other than watches, I'm in favor of having less stuff not more.

To be fair, I was in my AD today to grab a gift and we were discussing my next piece, which hopefully gets allocated next month, and I was honest, I have all of that brand’s watches I can use after the next one. He then dropped the bomb that they are officially picking up the GS lineup, so a reset of sorts.

Welcome to WC. Like others have said, I think you’ll find the appreciation and discussions here friendly and supportive for the most part.
