Hell yea

Not everyone can afford a Rolex or any luxury Watch for that matter. And if they love the design it isn’t fair they can’t get what they really love.

Thank you pagani!!!!

I have there rolex sub no date

Now I do plan to get the real thing but what made me really pull the trigger was coming to the conclusion of why should I care what anyone thinks and if I travel or go anywhere where I have to worry about the real thing I have the pagani as a back up!

AND

it motivates me to hustle for the real thing. If I am Able to drop 10k and not feel it then doing really well 💰 😎 👈🏾

Yes, and here's why:

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. As long as the watch doesn't have actual, Rolex branding (or whatever branding from whatever company they're paying tribute to) then it's fine.

The instant a watch has forged branding, it becomes counterfeit, not an homage.

I am VERY against counterfeit watches. But I love homages.

Yes (again)

Define micro brand? I’ll give San Martin micro brand because they do have some of their own designs. But I don’t think you can blanket brands like Piganni Design as micro brands when they only do blatant “copy’s” with their own branding. But I am one of the few that probably consider these copies pretty much counterfeit. Atleast they just make me feel I’m wearing a fake watch with a different name on it. But it’s main goal was to deciet others around to believe it’s the watch the lay person would think of luxury. There is no way

You can tell be that the PD speedy isn’t a direct knock off of omega. If you say well it’s not a counterfeit because is says Pagni instead of omega, I personally do not agree. But I do believe a lot of homage brands have great quality watches, just stolen designs.

The differences between a replica and an homage can be very minimal but as long as there are even subtle differences from the original design we have to take it as a homage. Can't comment on PD specifically although they offer crazy value for money (NH35/PT5000, Sapphire crystal, 316L stainless steel etc). Also I think there are so many other Aliexpress brands other than PD which offer great value for money. Quality argument is moot because you get as much as you are willing to pay for it, obviously.

"Also the target audience of these types of watches is less fortunate average watch enthusiast crowd. With homage watches they also get to taste the real thing and not get left alone in the dust by all those insanely priced ultra luxury watches. Wealth distribution on a global scale is crazily skewed. So why not give the poor guy an opportunity to have some joy out of a cheap homage watch? I think if people would be more empathetic towards others they'd understand."

Yes BUT only if made by the original manufacturer - eg my prospex Willard and Seamaster 300 heritage. Or if it's a long out of production model, eg the Steinhart "Steve McQueen" .

Having said that, I do own a Steeldive Ploprof 🤣👍
