Giving Komo's Asanoha a try

After looking at their dials for a while, I decided to give Komoworks a try. The reason for my hesitation is obvious, meaning that the dial cost me more than the rest of the watch. Was it worth it?

At this point, I would say that it is. The pattern of the dial and how it changes in different ambient lighting is just really fun to watch. Are there downsides? Yes, the dial isn't cheap, and I would be cautious handling it. This is not your typical brass watch dial.

I'm not sure if this will be the final configuration, but for the time I'm sure I'll have fun with it. Initially I didn't want another diver, but I couldn't think of another case I liked that would contrast the way I wanted.

I would definitely recommend the dial if you're looking for something different.

It looks unique and special. I would rather pay a little more for that feature than pay a lot of more for something ready-made with nothing special although I don't mean to say that a mass-produced watches are bad. But I simply think that such an opportunity to have a unique dial and therefore a unique watch may not arise again. Otherwise, the dial would also look great in a case for an dinner watch I think

Looks great! I've been close to ordering a dial from them several times, eventually I'll give it a go.

Yes, the texture of the dial would also have been great with a dressier watch. But on the other hand, the indices are typical for a dive watch, so I just went along with it. I also wanted to offset the white dial somehow, and the bezel insert helped in that regard.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Which of the dials were you considering?

Ha! You read my mind! (Or I read yours!)

So it looks great in person then??

The white dial or the gmt dial for myself. I also almost bought the Tiffany blue one for my wife but I held off too long.

Yes, it looks slightly different from every angle, and I'm not 100% sure what the material is. The dial feet are not nearly as robust as what one might be used to. But once all is said and done, it does look wonderful.

Here a picture on my wrist:

I have two dials from Komo, they never disappoint!

Mind me asking how much the dial was?

It was $91, plus shipping and everything just under $120.
