Translation. Calling all polyglots.

Anyone out there that speaks or can read Mandarin or Cantonese? I love this watch but I want to be sure that the characters are legitimate. It could say Gweilo and I'll still wear it. Lol.

According to Google Lens it says dragon. With this red color I believe that it is an edition for year of the dragon 2024.

Thanks. Google Lens wasn't getting it done.

This is the long form Chinese character for Dragon. Identical to that above the 6 on the San Martin.

That's what the listing said. I used Google Lens and one character translated as "ugly" so I wanted to be sure.

Maybe something went wrong. But on my Lens check it was just dragon.

A shame they haven't rendered the San Martin logo into Chinese. That would be a real mark of self confidence.

That WatchUSeek link was very informative. Google Lens's translation capabilities leave a lot to be desired.

Yes, this would have been a great opportunity to show "Chinese Made" with pride. This looks impressive.

Thanks. My brother lives in the far East. He would always laugh at westerners that would come and get Chinese characters as tattoos. What the characters actually meant were hilarious. I know San Martin makes quality stuff but I'm always a skeptic. Google lens could use some work. Impressive tech but not always perfect or correct.

Conversely I doubt San Martin were thinking of this when they chose their brand

Yeah, that's what that WatchUSeek post said. I trust San Martin. It's AliExpress I sometimes wonder about.
