I happen to be selling one lightly used with a bracelet from an SBDN069 instead of the typical silicone strap.
I think both are excellent choices, depending on whether you'd prefer a more dressy or sporty look. But are either available if you walked into an AD today? My hunch is probably not but plenty are available on the secondary market.
to your latter point, when i see these seikos that are a few grand my initial thought is "that's a lot for a seiko that's not even a grand seiko" :)
