New Ball Engineer III Marvelight Chronometers - in 36mm!

So I've been intrigued by Ball watches for a few years now, but I've never seen one in person. The Engineer III was particularly interesting to me because it seemed like a well made and spec'd daily driver, like a Rolex OP Datejust but a third of the price and actually attainable. My only issue is they only came in 40mm, my preference is in the 36-38mm range.

Last night I got an email from Ball promoting a new day-date model in two case sizes: 40mm and 36mm! Turns out the 40mm is a day-date and the 36mm is date only. The latter comes in 4 colors (black, green, ice blue, pink mother of pearl) and 2 types of lume (classic, rainbow). They're supposed to be limited editions, pre-order priced until April 5, 2023 for Oct/Nov 2023 delivery.

But if these sell out, maybe other models will come out in smaller case sizes as well? They state the 36mm model is their "answer to the resurgence of interest for the classic watch size". What do you think of the new models?

They are very nice, indeed. I, too, like Ball. Only have one. Fireman Nightbreaker. Considering another, don't know which one, yet.
