The modding community is huge, especially Seiko modding. Being able to build yourself the watch of your dreams is fantastic.
Love it! You can add flare and unique touches to personalize your watches or upgrade them as you want. You also learn a lot if you do it yourself!
I think it's great. Something as simple as a strap change can make it feel like a different watch. Most mods are fairly simple and can make a great watch perfect.
If you're bored with the dial and hands, changing these can rejuvenate enthusiasm. Surprising how changing a strap / bracelet can transform a strap. Much like a car, wrong colour and it's nothing, get it right, and pow. Add the perfect wheels😍 I give you my 1992 Mercedes W124 230E
I’ve got a couple Seiko mods and love em.
I did a SKX mod project a few years ago, and I REALLY like how it turned out. I wanted to upgrade the movement as well, but had some crossed wires with the watchmaker that was working on the project with me. The overall look and feel on the wrist was GREAT though...super happy with it. Here is the before and after the my project from a few years back.
I really love seeing what modders come up with. Their designs are almost always better than Seiko's designs.
