2nd WC Manila Meetup: Convos, Chronos, and Coffee
Our 1st Manila Meetup last November was a blast! 'Twas really cool to have met fellow enthusiasts / collectors over good food and delicious coffee. Conversations were dotted with lots of stories, laughter, and photoshoots. Watches were sprawled on opposite sides of the long table, and there wasn't a shortage of amazed 'oohs' and 'aahs' from everyone.
Those of us from Manila were also quite grateful that @JGman625 from Iloilo, @rodeenski from Baguio, and @brunofrankelli from Los Baños, joined us on that day. Heck, @GeloFran just happened to be there serendipitously, and his son went away with a vintage watch purchase!
We were also privileged to meet the team members behind two PH microbrands -- @Davion / @Argoswatchesph and @natlgiographic (De Guzman & Co.).
Now that it's 2024, it would be good to connect again, enjoying good Convos about our "Chronometers", over delicious Coffee (CCC). Our 2nd Meetup can be some kind of a Post-Christmas & New Year celebration / get together.
Meetup will be on Sunday, February 4th, from 4 - 7PM. Venue will be at The Fat Seed Cafe, just across the Terra Park 28th Street in BGC. Kindly confirm your attendance no later than Friday, 2 February, 6PM. Like before, @sfreak will need the headcount so he can make the necessary reservations for our group.
As an FYI, @Darthbull from Honolulu will be in town to join us.
Here are some of the initial activities being lined up:
1. One Watch Story-telling - We will follow this format...
"Hi, my name is ___________, and I'm a watch addict." :D
Share any personal info you'd like
"I've been a watch enthusiast / collector for about _____ months / years..."
"My 1-Watch Story (choose from any of the topics)..."
a) The watch that started it all / First watch to collect
b) Most precious / significant watch, and why
c) Favorite travel/ vacation/ leisure watch, and why

2. Watch Trivia Game - to be hosted by @sfreak. So get your watch nerd game on!
3. Q & A with a Watchmaker - This idea is to be confirmed by @litoben. If Sir John is available (pictured below in a blue shirt), who is a Seiko & Tissot certified watchmaker, we will invite him to join us and answer any of our watch maintenance, watch repair / watch making questions.
4. Post-Christmas Kris Kringle - This is not mandatory, but whoever wishes to join can bring a gift.
Of course, if you have any activity you'd like to suggest that we can do during our meetup, please do so in the comments section.
And, as before, if you know anyone else who might be interested to join, whether he/she is on WC or not, feel free to invite them. Kindly just confirm their attendance by Friday, 2 February, 6PM.

Watchbros and watchsis i'm located in butuan city and normally do not have the luxury of getting off work for leisure trips such as watch meets. But this coming january 23-26 we were given an appointment slot and i will be in manila u.s. embassy with our kids january 24 and 25 for u.s. passport renewal. I should be free to have a short meetup on the evening of january 23, 24, and 25 depending on how long the embassy keeps us. We go back home january 26. Message lang if anyone is near that area and we can have coffee/dinner. I'm only bringing one watch though, for safety and security haha.

That's the one! They charge so low, kaya when we do get our watches serviced, @litoben and I give extra. Kapag suki na, minsan hindi na nagcha-charge. But we still give kasi service rendered pa rin yon.

Always a privilege to host the meetup, pare. 👍 For the next ones moving forward, I suggest we ask for volunteers so that we can rotate both hosting and location/venue. Just to be fair to everyone sa traveling distance.
