Isn't the point of the Lunar Pilot to be a modern version of the one that went to the moon? Wouldn't changing the nature of the movement make it less of a Lunar Pilot and more of a generic chronograph?

I guess you're right by they already did by making the smaller versions?

One of my favorite watches. On the movement, Bulova wanted to be true to the original, so similar to the original Moonwatch, they decided to use a mechanical movement that beats at a simulated 8 beats/second, instead of using the Precisionist movement which beats at 16 beats/second. This is according to Bulova, so not sure if accurate or just a cost cutting measure. Either way, it is the most accurate watch in my collection.

I believe the frequency on the dial means that its quartz oscillates at 8 times faster than normal quartz, you'll get 10 second gain a year on that max !

I do believe the movement is equivalent/chrono version of the precisionist.

Either way, it's one of the least pricey in my collection & as accurate as my quartz Aqua Terra. Great watch, love mine. 🌜🚀

Nah you can‘t/shouldn‘t put the high-end Citizen or 9F on the same level as the Bulova HAQ. World‘s apart (as is the Bulova HAQ from „off the shelf“ Quartz movements).

This watch has a precision movement. I have the white dial great watches.

Beautiful watch with lots of history. Bulova is very underrated but they have some really cool pieces in their catalog.

Imo, Bulova gets undeserved hate by a certain Dutch man in Belfast.

I get it, Some models are a miss but I think majority are a hit.

That should be the exact same movement. Looks really sharp in that panda style dial.

IMO this is an excellent movement and watch. I can't see Bulova using a great automatic movement in this watch. The quartz movement used is the same movement at the Jetstar. You would have to spend a lot more $ to get a more accurate quartz or automatic movement
