The new Traska Commuter!

I got this little guy in the mail today after waiting almost six months since I preordered it in the winter. The finishing is remarkable for a $600 watch. I have some gripes with it (loud rotor, bracelet pulling on my hair) but I think it looks absolutely stunning and wears very comfortably.

Why the long wait? I know they have short windows to jump in and order a few times a year but I wasn't expected such a long lead time from the time of purchase.

Looks great! Mine arrived today, too.

I'm not entirely sure! They originally told us we'd get them in June, but they delayed the shipping date three times due to logistical issues, so we got them a month late. They'll be available to everyone else in a few weeks though!

Sound like good value for what you paid?Congrats

Enjoy it!

Oh man. I always wanted one of these. Seems like such a nice watch with the coating and slim profile but I just returned a watch due to pulling hair. They need to make that stop 😒🤌

YOU DID TOO? I returned mine for the same reason, the bracelet was pulling my hair. No way! Care to share more?

Yeah, I bought a Christopher Ward Twelve almost right when it came out. But whenever I take it off of move it around it would do this... the link geometry around the corners isn't well thought through so they are a bit too much like pliers.

Oh man, that looks painful; I'm sorry! Did CW let you return it despite the watch not being brand new with tags and plastic wrap?

I have only removed, and very carefully so, the wrapping around the head. The stickers at the clasp were intact and the bracelet remained unsized. I had the watch on my wrist for less than a minute. I put the wrapping back onto the watch head so you could barely even tell it was ever removed. It was in better condition than most display models that are sold as brand new in places like Bucherer.

Now, I am not one who returns things a lot. In fact it is the first watch I ever returned and I only did so because there was simply no way I could have anticipated this amount of hair pulling in a less "hands on" way and they have no shops where I am. They are saving cost by being online only and some honest returns are just part of that deal. Had they told me that isn't brand new unworn anymore (ie I did something not covered by their 60/60 return thing) and they won't take it back, then I most certainly would never buy a watch from them again 😉 and since I am a returning customer who kept, or at least didn't return, the last watch he bought it doesn't seem worth it I would think.

BUT they refunded the money within a day or so of receiving the watch, full amount, as they should. They were very nice and pleasant to deal with, it was all super simple and I hope to buy (and keep) one in the future.

This was pre-orders/reservations for the updated line of watches.

Gorgeous watch. I preordered the same model and color as well a Freediver in Carbon Black with date. I got them both earlier this week and absolutely love them. The Venturer GMT was my first Traska and it made me an instant fan of the brand.

I'm so glad you love it! I returned mine, unfortunately. The bracelet was pulling my hair and it felt a little too cheap for the price, in my opinion. I'm waiting on the refund. I'm stoked you love it, though! The case is so thin and BEAUTIFULLY finished.

Great pick

And another candidate for my GADA. Is it louder than the Tisell? I'm fine with my Tisell being faintly audible...

When they start being sold with the Venturer clasp and in teal/dark green, I might not resist..

I’d say it’s on par with the Tissel. I returned it because the bracelet pulled my hairs…yet I’m thinking of buying it again…I’m a mess! They’re still in stock now, luckily.

Yes, you're a mess. 😃 Try to remember its flaws and look for some better Datejust homage, like a CW Sealander or something. But if you already have one, well, you're lost. 😃
