My Watches in Bed

Today, we discuss the Hemobllo watch roll that is home to my babies. I purchased the roll from Amazon, for $12.12 (in canadian dollars). They ended up shipping 2, so $6.06 each (about $4 US). It works but, as you can see, only for very small watches -- I got to give one as a gift.

This is not a bad product, but it is too small for my Seiko. and even my Vostok. Still, my babies do need a home, and I really cannot complain about the price.

The other watch you see is my CS201, which is my fitness band and sleep check device. That one was a good buy at $34 Canadian.  I ended up purchasing three of these as gifts at that price. These are now double that price, so I cannot recommend (the battery will die, and the device will be useless in a year or two).

So this is my entire "under $500 Canadian" collection. ($470 all in, taxes included).

I have been thinking about adding a Seagull 1963 (Chinese horological influence). Or maybe a Timex of some sort (maybe a vintage Marlin -- I like the way they look). I need suggestions. The itch is for a watch that is a bit "dressier". But, I really like the Seagull .

All snug in a rug like a bug…😉

Great price for a roll, I may have to invest in one. If the touching bothers you, maybe you could find a thin piece of leather or fabric that you can weave in-between each watch head—if that’s something that bothers you.

Something like this, just imagine they are in a watch roll:

Not sure if it would help much, but I don’t like when my watches touch. I’m a scratch wuss.

Scratches from use is one thing; but scratches from storage? No way!

Seeing OP's watches all laid out like that and then imagining them all rubbing against each other while stored is giving me the frights.

Very true, that is a great point On storage scratches vs use scratches.  I like the rolls where you invert every other watch (like sleeping head to toe, I don’t know how to explain it 😂) but for a decent one they seem so expensive!  I’m all for supporting craftspeople but I’d rather buy a watch over a $100+ roll!

Genius idea! HoroMichigan! I've deployed a eyeglass micro-fibre cloth for this now!

Yeah, alternating seems best, but I'm not sold on this type of roll. Mostly because I would never travel with more than 2 spare watches and tucking both of those into a sock works well enough for me.

To each their own though.

Yeah, I don’t really see the point in taking a ton of watches traveling either—just one more thing to worry about. I know people who change watches 3 or 4 times a day when they are on vacation!  As you said, to each their own :) I’m sure it’s fun to take pictures on vacations with different watches, or like being on a cruise if they have formal night, you can change into a dressier watch. I can’t relate though 😂 I’m a home body until my finances allow for more travel.
